My soul in stillness waits…

The next few days will fly, so I’m sitting quietly now looking at our Christmas tree… It reminds me of the simple things often overlooked or seemingly not appreciated.

After a great deal of soul searching, my son seems to know what he wants to do and just completed his first semester at it with an A- overall. And the other day, he sat and played piano for the first time in two years…

My daughter has been accepted by every one of the copious universities she applied to and the two she wants most are competing heavily with scholarships. It appears she’ll be going exactly where she wants to go and do exactly what she wants to do…

My wife, partner, friend just keeps putting up with me in spite of my many moods and quirky sensibilities. We have food, shelter, and an abundance of dear friends.

Yes, there are plenty of awful, terrible, very bad things going on in the world, but perhaps if we all just spent another moment or two in stillness…And reflected on our simple gifts, the complicated would become less so.

Have a blessed Christmas Eve Eve. And remember… breathe.
