So, as I was rereading all the posts on my status for yesterday, an image came to mind. It was one of those spiral vortex things that always used to be around the checkout areas of restaurants or in museums and other places for coaxing you out of your spare change. You know, those big, yellow plastic funnel contraptions you could drop a penny into and watch it spin its way to the bottom. I was,and apparently remain fascinated by these things–how the coin spins slowly at first, then faster and faster and faster as it moves down the ever-narrowing funnel part until it became a noisy whirring blur and finally dropped through the hole at the bottom. Now I don’t want to go into the whole metaphysical discussion about what is on the other side of the hole, but it strikes me that the path that the penny takes in one of these spinner things is more like a metaphor for life then any “line.” So I guess I can be transfixed with the question “how fast am I spinning and when will I drop” or I can do my best to just relax a bit and enjoy this wild ride… have a great day, week, month , year everyone!
