The Yule log burns and all four candles glow.
Past the longest night; the Son comes with the dawn.
Gather now and sing the way we do.
And think of those who cannot sing along.
Huddled people far and near sit alone in quiet fear.
In soft candle lit rooms, we welcome warmth of friends
Memories swirling in the air; for some it’s all that’s there.
Too many no longer here to cheer us.
Gather now with family at hearth, in home.
Roast the meat and boil the pudding; prepare the festive spread
Bring on the Lamb for He is food for us
Awaiting Easter’s promise now this Christmastime.
Embrace the pace of years; go round and round.
Once more, into winter’s arms enfold; the old, grey man’s embrace
The yuletide circle drawing closed again
Return oh sun; Oh Son, bring back the light.
